Journeying from Nashville to Evansville

Our recent adventures began in Nashville, Tennessee, a city renowned for its rich musical heritage and welcoming atmosphere. Having spent enjoyable days exploring the local attractions, savoring delectable cuisine, and soaking in the lively music scene, we were eager to set out on the next leg of our journey.

The purpose of our travels was to participate in the National Theatre on Ice competition, an event that brings together ice skating enthusiasts from various regions. This opportunity filled us with enthusiasm, as not only would my son compete, but we would also have the chance to connect with other skaters and families who share our passion. We flew into Nashville to road trip to Evansville, we were not just looking forward to the competition, but also to discovering hidden gems along the route.

Discovering Lost River Cave

During our road trip, we diverted our route and visited Lost River Cave in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Lost River Cave is not only renowned for its striking natural beauty but also holds significant historical importance, making it an essential stop for both nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

Located just a few miles from downtown Bowling Green, Lost River Cave offers a glimpse into the region's unique topography, characterized by its extensive limestone formations and underground rivers. During our recent visit to Lost River Cave, the 45-minute tour offered a perfect blend of nature appreciation and fun. Following the tour of the Lost River Cave, we took a short hike to Charlie Miller Butterfly Habitat. As we entered the habitat, the sight of butterflies dancing gracefully among a plethora of blooming flowers creates an enchanting atmosphere that captivates visitors of all ages.

The kids had an absolute blast in the butterfly habitat! They sat quietly, eagerly hoping a butterfly would land on them. And to be honest, the adults were just as excited and doing the same.

Wishing for More Time: Trails and Exploration

During our visit to Lost River Cave, we were greeted by a stunning landscape that beckoned exploration beyond the confines of the cave itself. Although our time was limited, the sight of various trails winding through the surrounding area deeply piqued our interest. Until next time!
