A Perfect Fall Day: Rhode Island to Long Island 🍂
This weekend was all about family, fall vibes, and a little adventure! We started our day early, leaving Rhode Island and catching a morning ferry from Connecticut to Long Island, NY. Bringing the car along made the commute super easy and stress-free.
Our first stop? The Moriches Bay Diner and Restaurant — the perfect spot to meet up with family traveling in from the West Coast. I was thrilled to find a delicious gluten-friendly breakfast option to kick off the day!
From there, we headed to the Waterdrinker Fall Festival, and wow — what an experience! The festival was packed with activities for kids and adults alike. The little ones had an absolute blast exploring everything from pumpkin patches to seasonal games. Honestly, you could spend hours here and never run out of things to do.
Midday, we took a cozy break across the parking lot at Long Island Farm Brewery. They offer a great variety of craft beers and even a home-brewed root beer for those skipping alcohol. Just a quick tip: watch out for the bees — they love those sweet drinks and honey rims!
After recharging, we wandered back to Waterdrinker for more family fun. It was the perfect way to soak in a beautiful New England fall day with loved ones.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! If you’re looking for a mix of seasonal charm, family-friendly activities, and a little local flavor, this trip is a must.
